A Private Career College (PCC) is a school that prepares students for a specific job, or gives them specific skills, such as computer skills. There are currently more than 500 private career colleges in Ontario. Unlike the public universities and colleges of applied arts and technology, which receive funding from the government, career colleges are private organizations. Some operate for a profit, as a business. Others are non-profit organizations.
Private Career Colleges operating in Ontario must be registered, and have their programs approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. The act that governs private career colleges is called the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005. This act ensures that private career colleges meet certain standards for the programs they offer, as well as advertising, refund policies, and instructor qualifications.
Waterloo-Wellington Flight Centre is a registered Private Career College and our ID number is 105919. We are a non-profit organization. As part of the PCC regulations, all Conestoga College and University of Waterloo Aviation students are required to sign a PCC contract before beginning the aviation component of their program. The signing of this contract will take place upon your acceptance, by the Waterloo-Wellington Flight Centre.
It is important to note that all non-post secondary students who are working towards their Commercial License, Flight Instructor Rating or are enrolled in the Fast Track program are required to sign a PCC contract before beginning the flight component of their training.
